With all this SOPA & PIPA bullshit over the past week, I was waiting for Anonymous to show up which they did after the feds took down Megaupload today. No doubt this was strategically planned by the government to coincide with these anti-freedom bills SOPA & PIPA.
Any support of these bills is an egregious breach of trust; not only those who have elected these officials, but Americans as a whole. Reading about other countries around the world that restrict & censor the information their citizens have access to is bad enough; but as an American I never thought that would be the case here. The idea behind this bill is terrible, although the fact that it’s gotten this far is alarming. Should this bill be passed, the United States would be in the same league as Cuba, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea among others who censor the internet.
Anyone who supported these bills needs to be punished. Actions such as these deserve consequences to prevent them from trying this again. At the very least, these congressmen & senators should be stripped of all social media accounts, as well as any other outlet available online. Those looking to censor the internet don’t deserve to use it to their advantage as well.
